The Covington Howler - March 11th, 2010

Covington School's Weekly Newsletter

From Erin Green, Principal

Dear Covington Parents and Community:

Junior Olympics
The Junior Olympics are off and running! Many thanks to Terese Blockus, Kathleen Vitakis and Rachel Botsford for their efforts in getting our students excited about the Junior Olympics at our assembly last Friday!

Science Fair
Monday our Science Fair begins!  We look forward to all of the exciting projects our student scientists have been working on!  Drop-off time for science projects start at 8:10 am Monday morning in our Multipurpose Room.

Staff News/ Information
Kaitlin Winarsky, our Special Education Resource Teacher, will not be returning to school this year. Ms. Winarsky had a death in her family and she has made the difficult decision to be with them at this sad time. Our thoughts are with Ms. Winarsky.
To replace Ms. Winarsky for the duration of the year, Lynne Bush, a former Resource Teacher with many years of experience, will join our Covington Team. We welcome Ms. Bush to our school and look forward to all she will bring to our students and families at Covington.

Finally, next Thursday, March 18th, will be a minimum day for students. Our staff will be engaged in professional development around our new math program.

I hope to see you all at the PTA Auction next Saturday night, March 20th!

Sincerely,

Erin S. Green
