Covington Pick Up, Drop Off and Parking Rules

Covington has 600 kids on campus this year!  The following rules are required to help ensure the pick up and drop off process at Covington is kept safe and flowing as smoothly as possible:

  • When driving through the pick up (right) lane, please pull as far forward as possible (either to the car in front of you or the sign indicating "Pull Forward to Here").
  • Stay in your car: do not leave your car unattended at any point to go and pick up your child, as it will clog the lane. Likewise, please do not exit your car to assist your children; this will also cause more congestion.
  • You are welcome to park your car in an unreserved space and walk with your children in the morning or to meet them after school.  Likewise, if your children need assistance getting in or out of the car, it is best to park in a parking space and help them.
  • Please drop your children off at the curb only; do not drop your child off in the middle of the parking lot as it is not safe.
  • Once you drop off your children, please proceed out of the parking lot. Traffic needs to continue to flow to avoid back-ups on neighboring streets.
  • Thank you for not using your cell phone while driving in the school parking lot.
  • If the Covington parking lot is full, you may park in the back portion of the St. William’s parking lot.  The church is generously sharing their parking lot and we respect their wish to keep the front lot available for their functions.  For those that live on the backside of Covington, the Rosita Park parking lot is also a great option.
  • Listen to and follow the directions of the Traffic Volunteers.  They are parents just like you and are volunteering their time to keep you and your children safe.

Please note that the speed limit is 15 MPH in front of the school.

Thank you for doing your part to help keep our students safe!
